Diya, Akarsha, Min, and Noelle
The Main Four!
Diya, Akarsha, Min, and Noelle (collectively DAMN or Homebase) are the main four characters of Butterfly Soup and Butterfly Soup 2. Through both games you play as each of them in whats commonly referred to as their respective "Chapters" or "Point of Views."

Pre-existing Dynamics
Diya and Noelle (Also referred to as Diyelle) have been friends since kindergarten, before Diya could even remember. Thus in the first game they're already pretty tight knit. They've been attached at the hip, to the point where Diya used to cry whenever teachers would seperate them, for a long time. All to say: they are very close (to the point where they are a fairly popular non-canon ship!)
Approximately a month before the first game starts, Diya and Noelle become aquainted with Akarsha, whom they both have a begrudging friendship with (See: Diya referring to Akarsha as her aquaintance and classmate and Noelle's "Fellow Aquaintances" quote). Though Akarsha seems to become fairly comfortable with them by the time the game takes place. She has already been integrated into their lives.
As seen in flashbacks in both games, Diya, Min, and Noelle have much of a past before they reunite in Freshman year. Diya and Min being as understanding and in love with eachother as ever and Min and Noelle harboring a sort-of rivalry. Noelle being Diya's best friend made Min very upset so she has decided to be her designated hater. Noelle dislikes her back but doesn't seem to take the "rivalry" seriously.
